UK Broadband
is at it's highest in Swindon
That little town called Swindon is the best place for UK Broadband. But
according to the study, Cardiff is the fastest one rising up the
UK Broadband pole chart.
When the study was taken for high speed internet connections dating 30th
June 2006. The UK Broadband research showed that Wiltshire had a
penetration rate of 59.8 per cent, which showed us that Wiltshire top the
charts for high speed broadband.
Last years results showed us that Swindon had topped the pole position for
highest penetration rate from December 2005, when the figures showed a
massive 51.1 per cent had UK Broadband.
The UK Broadband penetration report shows a very steady growth throughout
the country, but figures showed a digital divide between areas.
Around 40 per cent in the UK are only using UK Broadband, the figures were
taken in the period of June 2006.
After the reports, it was found, Northern Irelend, Wales and East Midlands
were the lowest places to have high speed UK Broadband access. This showed
a one in three households had Internet access.
If the trend in the UK Broadband pole chart carries on in the same way, it
looks like Cardiff will be taking the Number one spot. The figures which
had been taken from the
end of June 2006 showed it had moved up to second position only a few per
cent behind Swindon.
It looks like the capital of Wales has been chosen by BT for the next
testing which will begin with only 10% being moved, and then the rest in
March 2007.
